How do I subscribe to SecureBox Service?

  1. To subscribe, kindly click this SecureBox link and fill up the form at the bottom of the page.
  2. Our Sales representative will contact you to discuss the required package.

Note: Soon, you will be able to subscribe to SecureBox directly and pay using PayPal or Credit Card

How do I access my SecureBox account?

Log in to your SecureBox account from a web browser:

  1. On the desktop or laptop, open any web browser
  2. Navigate to your own company’s SecureBox URL
  3. Log in using the credentials provided by your administrator (username and password)
  4. Click Login
  5. In case two-factor authentication is enabled by your administrator, you will need to insert your Security Access Code (You will either receive the code by email or you will have it on Google Authenticator App).In case two-factor authentication is not enabled by your administrator, you will be able to login directly.

Log in to SecureBox desktop application to synchronize your files to your computer:

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://penta.ch/downloads/
  2. Select and download the SecureBox installer based on your operating system
  3. Install the SecureBox app on your computer (Refer to How To > Install the SecureBox Desktop Application for detailed steps)
  4. Files will automatically sync once the application is installed.

Where can I download the SecureBox Application?

You can download the SecureBox for Windows and Mac application by navigating to https://penta.ch/downloads/.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Why cancel? Please let us hear your side regarding the service that you have with us.

If you have decided to end your subscription please contact our support team by sending an email or by calling us .

Install the SecureBox for Windows Desktop Application

The below step will guide you in installing the SecureBox App for Windows:

  1. Download the relative SecureBox for Windows application from https://penta.ch/downloads/
  2. Double click on the installer “.exe
  3. On Open File – Security Warning, click RUN
  4. On the “User Account Control” window, click Yes
  5. On Select Additional Tasks window, tick Windows Explorer Integration
  6. Click Next
  7. On Ready To Install window, click Install
  8. Wait until the installation is complete
  9. The installation will require to restart the computer, click Finish to proceed
  10. After the computer restart, you can double-click on the SecureBox icon on your desktop or use your Start button to search for SecureBox.
    Enter the following settings:
    SecureBox Sync Server URL: Insert your company’s URL
    Account: Username
    Password: Password
  11. Click Login
  12. If asked, insert the security access code (You will receive it by Email or Google Authenticator APP)
  13. SecureBox will start syncing the files to your computer.

Install the SecureBox for MAC Desktop Application

The below steps will guide you on installing the SecureBox App for Mac:

  1. Download the SecureBox for Mac application on https://penta.ch/downloads/
  2. Double click on the installer “dmg”.
  3. On the CloudSync window, drag and drop the SecureBoxSync icon to Applications
  4. A shortcut of the SecureBoxSync will be created in the Applications folder
  5. Double click on SecureBoxSync to open the software
  6. Enter the following settings:
    SecureBox Sync Server URL: Insert your company’s URL
    Account: Username
    Password: Password
  7. Click Login
  8. If asked, insert the security access code (You will receive it by email or on Google Authenticator APP)
     
  9. Your files will start syncing now. You can access them by navigating to the SecureBox icon on the Menu bar.

Create a new folder

The below steps will guide you in creating a new folder in SecureBox.

  1. Login to SecureBox with the username, password and authentication code
  2. On the Dashboard, click My Files
  3. To create a new folder, click Folder Actions or Alt N
  4. Enter the folder name
  5. Click Create.

Create a new file

The below steps will guide you in creating a new file in SecureBox.

  1. Login to SecureBox with the given username, password and authentication code
  2. Click Folder Actions
  3. Then select from the following document types: Word Document, Presentation, Spreadsheet and Text Document
  4. To edit the file(s), click Web Edit.

Share a folder

The below steps will guide you in configuring the folder sharing in SecureBox.

  1. On the left pane, click Files
  2. Click My Files
  3. Tick the box to select a folder to share
  4. Then click Share

  5. The URL/Link to the shared folder will be generated
  6. To manage the shared folder, click Advanced Options
  7. To customize the share URL, click the Edit button
  8. Rename the share link and click Update
  9. On Share Options, the shared folder path is provided
  10. On Share Name, rename the given name to your preferred display name
  11. On Share Permissions, choose between Allow Everyone and Allow Selected Users/Groups
  12. On Allow Everyone, select the type of access permissions:
    View + Download,
    View + Download + Upload,
    View + Upload, View Only,
    Upload Only
  13. On Epires, tick Expires to configure the expiration date or use the default settings
  14. On Upload Size Limit, tick Limited then set the size limit in megabytes or use the default settings
  15. On Email File Change Notifications, tick Yes to get the updates and No to stop
  16. On Email Password Protection, ticket Yes to add a password or use the default settings
  17. On Allow Selected Users/Groups, choose to share between Guest and Group or on both
  18. Click Add Guest
  19. Enter the recipient’s Account or Email address
  20. Click Invite to send the invitation email
  21. The below screenshot is the sample of the email invite that the recipient will receive
  22. Tick the boxes that correspond to the below to set the access permissions for Guest accounts:
    Allow View,
    Allow Download
    ,
    Allow Upload
    ,
    Allow Share
    ,
    Allow Sync

    Misc (Allow Delete)
  23. To remove the Guest account, untick all the boxes
    *Note: Once you tick the option ‘Allow Everyone’ all accounts added to Guest and Group will be removed and will require reconfiguring the settings.
  24. On Group, click Add Group
  25. Find and click the group you wanted to grant access to
  26. Click Select
  27. Tick the boxes to set the access permissions for the selected Group
    Allow View
    Allow Download
    Allow Upload
    Allow Share
    Allow Sync
    Misc (Allow Delete)
  28. Then click Update.

Share a file

The below steps will guide you in configuring the file sharing in SecureBox.

  1. On the left pane, click Files
  2. Click My Files
  3. Tick the file to share
  4. Click Share

  5. The system generated share file URL will be provided
  6. To manage the shared file, click Advanced Options
  7. To customize the share URL, click the Edit button
  8. Rename the share link and click Update
  9. On Share Options, configure the shared file with your preferred settings
  10. On Share File Path, this is shown to see the location of the shared file
  11. On Share Name, rename to the preferred display name
  12. On Share Permissions, select between Allow Everyone and Allow Selected Users/Groups
  13. On Allow Everyone, the access to the shared file is/are permitted to all (Guest and Group – default settings)
  14. On Expires, tick Expires to configure the sharing expiration date or use the default settings
  15. On Restrict Downloads, tick Restrict to limit the number of file downloads or use the default settings
  16. On Email File Change Notifications, tick Yes to get the updates and No to stop
  17. On Enable Password Protection, tick Yes to add a password or use the default settings
  18. On Allow Selected Users/Groups, choose to share between Guest and Group or on both
  19. On Guest, click Add Guest
  20. On Search Users, enter the recipient account or email address
    *Note: Files can only be shared with users within the office network or with existing SecureBox account
  21. Click Invite
  22. On Share Notification, edit the email for the target recipient or
  23. Click Send
  24. Tick the boxes that correspond to the below to set the access permissions for Guest accounts:
    Allow View,
    Allow Download
    Allow Share
  25. On Group, click Add Group
  26. On Select Group, highlight the user groups in your network
  27. Click Select
  28. Tick the boxes that correspond to the below to set the file access permissions Groups:
    Allow View
    Allow Download
    Allow Share
  29. On Expires, tick Expires to configure the sharing expiration date or use the default settings
  30. On Email File Change Notifications, tick Yes to get the updates and No to stop
  31. Click Update.

Upload a file or a folder

The below steps will guide you in uploading a file/folder in SecureBox.

  1. Login to SecureBox with the given username, password and authentication code
  2. On the Dashboard, click My Files
  3. A file can be uploaded in two options, Manual or Drag and Drop (using Google Chrome)
  4. For Manual, click the Upload button on the right side of the page
  5. Navigate through the documents on the local PC and select the file
  6. Click Open
  7. For Drag and Drop, select the file on the local computer
  8. Drag the file to the Upload Queue in SecureBox.

Download a file or a folder

The below steps will guide you in downloading a file/folder from SecureBox:

  1. Select the file/folder you wish to download
  2. Click download from the menu bar or
  3. Right-click on the file/folder and click download
  4. Check the file/folder in the downloads folder on your computer.

Move a file or a folder

The below step will guide you in moving the file/folder to a preferred location:

  1. On the dashboard, click the file/folder
  2. On the menu bar click More
  3. Click Move (Ctrl+X) or
  4. Right-click on the file/folder and click Move
  5. Open the destination folder
  6. On the lower left side of the web page, click Move Items

Restore a previous version of a file or a folder

The below steps will guide you in restoring the previous versions of a file in SecureBox:

  1. On the Dashboard, click My Files
  2. Select the file you wish to check
  3. On the right window pane, the previous versions of the document is shown
  4. To see the previous versions, click More
  5. Select Previous Versions

  6. On the Previous Versions window, the all the file versions will be provided
  7. Select the file version you wish to recover
  8. The older file versions will have the below options:
    Download the version,
    Delete the version,
    Make this version live *Note: Selecting this option will overwrite the current live version.

Restore a deleted file or folder

The below steps will guide you in restoring the deleted file in SecureBox:

  1. To recover the deleted files, click Folder Actions on the Dashboard or ALT + D on the keyboard
  2. Select deleted File/Folder
  3. You can also open the deleted files/folder from the Recycle bin folder by typing “recyclebin” on the search bar
  4. On the recycle bin window, tick the checkbox of the file you wish to recover
  5. Click More
  6. Select Move
  7. Click My Files
  8. Select the destination folder you wish to move the file(s)/folder(s)
  9. On the lower left side of the web page, click Move Items to start the data recovery
  10. You should see the recovered file(s) in the selected destination folder

Managing folder level security

The below steps will guide you in configuring the folder security on SecureBox:

If you share a folder ‘A’ and then recreate folders ‘B’ and ‘C’ under it, all the people whom you shared folder A with will see folder B and C even if you didn’t share folder B and C with them.

If you want to deny someone whom you shared folder A with from seeing folder B, you will need to do this from the security panel of folder B:

  1. Select the folder (folder B for example)
  2. On the left pane, click security
  3. Click Manage Security and Add the user to the relative permissions
  4. You can also click on the Check Access Tab to verify the changes

If you want to share folders B and C with users, you need either to skip sharing folder A and directly sharing folder B and C or you will need to share folder A and then add security rights as per the below.

Setup Google Authenticator

The below steps will guide you in configuring the Google Authenticator for SecureBox:

  1. On the desktop or laptop, open a web browser
  2. Navigate to https://sbx.penta.ch
  3. Login using the credentials provided by your administrator (username and password)
  4. Click Login
  5. Click Setup Google Authenticator
  6. On Mode to enter code, select Scan Barcode
    *Note: refer to SecureBox administrator to reset the Google Authenticator Settings
  7. Click next
  8. Scan the QR code using the Google Authenticator App to activate
  9. Enter the six-digit security code
  10. Click confirm to log in.

What is Security Access Code?

Is an added security feature in SecureBox that provides security codes to login.

There are two ways to get the security access codes for SecureBox:
1. Through email
2. Google Authenticator

How can I reset my account password?

  • For account password reset, please inform the IT contact from your company to report the password issue to the SecureBox administrator.

How do I get support on Securebox?

  • You get SecureBox support by sending us an email or by calling us

Are there any Social Media account for SecureBox?

Yes, we do have a FaceBook page. Please add, like, share your thoughts and comments with us.

Are the features of SecureBox customizable?

Yes, this is an added feature where our clients can have their own SecureBox link using their domain. The logo and other settings can be customized after if requested.

Are there any limit on the devices linked to SecureBox?

  • “No limit” on linking devices to SecureBox.
