ENISA sponsors European Cyber Security Month

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has partnered with the European Commission and EU Member States to carry out Cyber Security Month; an annual campaign promoting cyber security among EU citizens and organisations.

Each year, for the entire month of October, hundreds of activities take place across Europe, including conferences, workshops, training programmes and more, to promote digital security and cyber hygiene.

Since the inaugural event in 2012, European Cyber Security Month has been bringing together individuals and organisations from across Europe under the slogan, ‘Cybersecurity is a Shared Responsibility’ to unite against cyber threats.

This year's European Cyber Security Month Campaign is encouraging people to #ThinkB4UClick by diving into the world of Social Engineering, where cybercriminals employ manipulation tactics to breach IT security defences. From phishing emails to impersonation scams, ESCM will provide the tools to decode the tactics that hackers use and empower citizens to recognize and thwart their efforts.

The EU Agency for Cybersecurity coordinates the ECSM campaign by acting as a ‘hub’ for all participating EU Member States and institutions. They provide expert suggestions and promote common messaging about cyber security among EU citizens, businesses and public administration.
